Got a machine for sale?

We are constantly looking for good quality agricultural and horticultural machinery.

About second-hand Pregraders

After harvesting crops such as potatoes, flower bulbs, and carrots, it is important to store the harvest as quickly as possible so it can dry before further processing and packaging. Before storing the product, it can be smart to pre-sort first. Pre-sorting before storage is often much more efficient than doing so afterward.

Pre-sorting machines are used for vegetables like potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and onions. On this page, you will find all the used pre-sorting machines we currently have in stock. On the page of a specific pre-sorter, you will find detailed information and photos of the machine itself. Do you still have a question? Feel free to contact us so we can personally assist you!

Pre-sorting

Pre-sorting is often done before the harvest is stored. Pre-sorting happens with the help of a pre-sorter, which can sort products like Brussels sprouts, flower bulbs, or potatoes. The pre-sorting process often involves removing undersized (too small) products. However, there are also machines capable of sorting oversized products.

Sorting undersized and oversized products

As mentioned, pre-sorters that remove undersized products are widely used. This means that too-small products are removed before being stored with regular items. This saves space and time, as pre-sorting is often more efficient beforehand than afterward.

In addition to pre-sorters that remove undersized products, there are also pre-sorters that can sort oversized products. This can be particularly useful if you receive a higher price per unit or kilogram for large specimens.

Types of pre-sorters

There are different types of pre-sorters on the market, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The biggest threat during pre-sorting and storage is product damage. Most pre-sorters address this issue by using methods that minimize the risk of damage.

Commonly used pre-sorters:

  • Star roller-based
  • Spiral roller-based
  • Diabolo roller-based
  • Web sorter

Brands

Several manufacturers on the market develop pre-sorters. In our stock of used pre-sorters, you will find pre-sorters from brands such as Compas, Schouten, Grisnich, and Bijlsma Hercules. Like all our machines, our pre-sorters are thoroughly inspected before being sold from our own inventory.

Sorting machines

In addition to pre-sorting, it is also important to sort your products adequately before selling them. After all, properly sorted products yield a much better price per kilogram, making it essential to optimize your returns.

That is why, besides pre-sorters, we also sell a wide range of used sorting machines, from complete sorting lines to fruit and apple sorting machines and potato sorters.
