About second-hand Box fillers

Did you know that a great deal of damage is done to potatoes, onions, carrots, flower bulbs and apples prior to storage, i.e. during the grading or crop handling process? A lot of this can be attributed to mechanical causes, or drops from great heights. This is why a box filler is a great help for putting delicate products into storage boxes quickly and in a product-friendly manner after harvesting or grading and pre-grading.

Manufacturers of box filling machines, such as Grimme, Miedema, Visser, Bijlsma Hercules, Herbert, Schouten, Compas, Mechatec, Aweta, Greefa and Burg have all built their machines according to individual specifications. However, these box filling machines all have the same purpose: filling cubic crates at high capacity, in a neat and product-friendly manner. The box fillers all operate according to the same principle. A sensor identifies the level to which the storage crate is filled, after which the supply conveyor adjusts the drop height. Depending on the model, the conveyor will move upwards (crate is on the floor) or the crate, often placed on a tilt yoke, will be slightly lowered.

Automatic high-capacity box filler

A typifying characteristic of an automatic box filler is that the filling machines will automatically start filling a new, empty crate when the present one is full. Additionally, most automatic box fillers are equipped with a feed conveyor that moves from front to back inside the cubic crate to build up layers so that the drop height remains limited. In addition to product-friendliness, capacity is a major advantage of automatic box fillers, because the crop handling and grading process does not need to be stopped when a crate is switched. In machines such as this, the supply belt to the box filler determines the maximum capacity.

You will find a list of all used box fillers that can be used to fill cubic storage boxes or crates of numerous varieties of vegetables, fruit and flower bulbs, such as potatoes, carrots, onions, sweet peppers and apples below. When choosing a used box filling machine, check to see for which type of fruit or vegetable it has been designed. Although a box filler for potatoes is not suitable for apples, the other way around is possible.
