The Lännen RT-4 carousel transplanter, is capable of planting most tray-grown seedlings. The Lännen RT-4 is a semi-automatic carousel transplanter, made up of individual planting unit and equipped with packing wheels. It was designed for planting containerized seedlings on well prepared soils. Its unique spike-belt design for plant support, combined with a variety of optional parts and adjustable features makes it perhaps the most versatile transplanter available on the market.

The Lannen RT-4 is a cell type transplanter for setting plants grown in trays.  These plants have a V-shaped root ball or cell.  The RT-4 uses a patented spike belt system to deliver the plant to the packing wheels.  The spike belts do a better job of keeping the plants upright during soil packing over other designs.  Spacings in the row are adjustable from 10" and up using the standard spacing gears, and 2" and up using optional gears.  Between row spacings are adjustable from 20" and up on single toolbars, and 10" and up on tandem toolbar frames.  It can set 3" to 12" tall plants and can handle cell sizes from 1" to 3 1/2" in diameter, and from 1 1/4" to 4" in cell length.  The planting capacity is 3,000 to 5,000 plants per hour per row.
