About second-hand machines for Mangoes
Mangoes, who doesn't love them? This drupe has become hugely popular in recent years, but is originally found only in tropical regions. Nowadays, they are also grown in Europe, such as in Spain and Portugal. Several machines are needed to process mangoes.
Mango sorting machine
Mangoes can be graded on different aspects, such as size, weight, colour and internal and/or external quality. Some mango sorting machines can even grade by sugar content to determine ripeness. For mango exports, sorting by weight is usually the most important aspect, as the fruit trade works with different weight classes per fruit.
Not every kind of fruit requires a special sorting machine. Depending on the type of cups or carriers, a sorting machine can also sort other types of fruit.
To maintain the perfect condition of the product, mango sorting machines are made to minimise the risk of impact and damage. Sorting machines often have brushes at the sorting exits to prevent mangoes from colliding.
Once the mangoes are sorted, they end up on e.g. a collection table or picking belt where the fruit can be manually or automatically filled into boxes.
Packaging machines for mangoes
There are different ways to pack mangoes, so there are also different packaging machines for this. These include;
- Flow pack machines
- With a flow pack machine, mangoes are packed on a foodtainer tray or kilo tray, or in a sealed bag. The machine owes its name flow pack to the fact that it hermetically seals the product in a plastic container with air, all within in a single 'flow'. The plastic in which the product is packed can be either transparent or pre-printed. These horizontal flow pack machines can also be used for other fruit or vegetable varieties.
- Topseal machines
- Mangoes can also be packed using a topseal packaging machine. The topseal machine seals the plastic onto a plastic or cardboard tray. The product can be vacuum or gas packed. This method is mainly used for pre-cut and 'ready-to-eat' mangoes.
- Netlon packaging machines
- Yet another option for packing mangoes is in a net. This is done with a netlon packaging machine. This machine can pack mangoes in tubular net or net bags. The weight packed per net can be weighed in advance with a weigher.
