About second-hand Samon machines

Samon has its origins since 1950 as an agricultural mechanisation company under the name Ellens. Since 1978, the company has been producing agricultural machinery under the name Samon. Over the years, this has grown into a full focus on the development and production of agricultural machinery for onions and potatoes.

Samon onion haulm toppers

Before the onions are harvested, an onion haulm topper ensures that the excess haulm is knocked off the onions. The Samon onion haulm topper is usually located at the front of the tractor, while the harvester is behind the tractor, which means that both harvesting and haul topping can be done in one pass. The automatic depth control is often chosen, which ensures that the topper always tops at the set height.

Samon onion harvesters

Onion harvesting machines are used for harvesting onions. This is done by means of a rotating harvesting shaft that goes through the ground and lifts the onions out of the ground. The onions are then windrowed on the land to dry for a few days. The Samon onion harvester is standard equipped with two sieving webs. There are mechanically adjustable beaters in both sieving webs. The feed is automatically closed by a feed roller when the machine is lifted. The sieving webs are driven by the tractor's PTO shaft.

Samon onion loaders

Samon has developed an onion loader especially for loading onions. With an onion loader, the onions can be loaded in a product-friendly way, from the field, into a tipper.

Samon windrower for potatoes

Potato winrow harvesters are used when harvesting potatoes at the ends of the fields, or when harvesting early potatoes with a fragile skin. A windrower causes less damage than a large scale potato harvester with longer harvesting mats. The Samon potato windrow harvesters are equipped with two sieving webs. By means of chisels, diabolos and discs, at the front of the machine, it is ensured that the potatoes get onto the sieving web without leaking.

Samon unloading conveyor belts

A unloading conveyor belt is a short mobile conveyor belt that can rotate back and forth on its frame. This is ideal for getting potatoes, onions, grain or fertiliser from the tipper into the storage bunker of the potato planter, onion planter, seeder or fertiliser spreader in a quick and dosed way.
