Ortomec’s self-propelling harvesters are available in various models: Foglia, Herbex, Lattuga, Aromatica and Green Line, each of which is has its own special features. These self-propelled harvesters can be equipped with a band-blade system or a vibrating blade to cut crops, after which the product is elevated on a conveyor belt for storage in large containers or crates. Ortomec harvesters can harvest numerous types of leafy vegetables such as regular, lamb’s ear and baby leaf lettuce as well as rocket salad, spinach, basil, parsley, aromatic herbs and chard. Most of the harvesting machines are driven by a Kubota engine. Being ahead of its time Ortomec has also expanded its product range with several smaller electrically-powered harvesters that run on batteries that can be recharged with a battery charger. The various types of harvesters can harvest at widths up to with of 180 cm. Because Ortomec harvesters are equipped with steel or rubber caterpillar tracks and a galvanised frame they can be used in almost all weather conditions.

Ortomec shaker table

To obtain a cleaner product harvesters can be equipped with a shaker table. This table sieves dirt from harvested leafy vegetables, ensuring a cleaner product. Particles of dirt or leaves, insects and foreign objects simply pass through the sieve’s holes. The shaker table is a stand-alone machine that can be mounted onto an Ortomec harvester behind the conveyor belt. The tables are available in various models and widths for convenient mounting on harvesting machines.

Ortomec Multi-Seed mechanical sowing machine

The Ortomec Multi-Seed seeder is a machine that can be used to sow various types of leafy vegetables in greenhouses and in the open field. The machine was specially developed to sow various products at a uniform density. This allows you to alternate between various different leafy vegetables such as regular, baby leaf and lamb’s ear lettuce, rocket salad, spinach, basil, parsley, aromatic herbs and chard. An electric vibratory motor ensures that the seeds are uniformly distributed across the sowing elements. The seed drill can sow at operating speeds of up to 10 km/hr. The sowing shares can be adjusted independently to the desired sowing depth or width.
