Got a machine for sale?

We are constantly looking for good quality agricultural and horticultural machinery.

About second-hand Holaras machines

Since 1911, Hoopman Machines B.V. from Aalten has been the manufacturer behind the Holaras brand. Starting out as a local blacksmith, they have now grown into specialists in the field of machinery for agriculture, arable farming and onion processing. And in recent years also increasingly for biogas and industry.

Holaras onion haulm toppers

The Holaras onion haulm toppers remove the haulm before the onions are harvested. The haulm topper is mounted in the front of the tractor, with the harvester hanging behind the tractor. As a result, haulm topping and onion harvesting are done efficiently and in one pass. Holaras onion haulm toppers are often equipped with automatic height adjustment of the blades. The sensors of the probes control the height of the cylinders. The perfect length of onion haulm is at the level of the lowest leaf split. If the haulm is topped higher, storage operations are more difficult and take more energy. However, the haulm should not be topped too short either, as bacteria and fungi will penetrate the bulb more quickly through the neck.

Holaras onion harvesting machines

Onion harvesting machines are used in harvesting onions. The square rotating harvester shaft of the onion harvester goes through the soil, whipping the onions out of the ground. In addition to this square shaft, discs are mounted on each side. The discs prevent loss when picking up the onions. By means of a rubber pick-up roller, behind the harvester shaft, the onions are brought onto the harvesting mat. Here, the onions are cleaned and brought onto a second harvest belt, after which they are windrowed on the land to dry for a few days. After drying, the onions can be collected without any problems. Holaras onion harvesting machines are sturdy and stable. The machine comes in different operating widths.

Holaras onion toppers

After the onions come off the land, the haulm of the onion needs to be shortened once more to the neck. The onion topper is usually installed as part of a sorting and processing line. The Holaras onion toppers have blades that cut off the remnants of the haulm. Vibrating motors set the bar screens in motion with a directed number of vibrations. The onions are transported, as it were, floating above the (vibrating) sieves. The high speed and special shape of the blades create a strong air flow. As a result, the onion tails are sucked between the bars of the vibrating sieve and cut off by sharp blades just below the sieve.

Topping the onions creates a lot of dust and noise. For this reason, many companies opt for a ‘closed’ blade tailer. This closed model has a guard cover at the top and a dirt disposal belt at the bottom. This prevents dust or other parts from escaping the machine.
