The Gregoire Besson Cemag was developed to transplant plants without a root ball, such as leeks or tree nursery products.

One of the key characteristics of the Gregoire Besson Cemag leek planter is its unique planting system, which consists of rubber belts running parallel to the ground at the driving speed of the machine. During the planting process, plants 10cm in length are held by two flexible belts and guided from the share into the furrow until they are completely covered with soil.

The biggest advantage to this method, as opposed to deep planting with a disc planting machine, is that prolonged guiding ensures that the leeks are planted straighter. This prevents root formation, which is better for the quality of the leeks. Additionally, leeks planted with this method grow faster than those planed with a dibbing machine.

The planting distance between the rows is adjustable from 50cm and up. Plants can be spaced within the rows can from 5cm.
