The purchasing policy of Duijndam Machines

23 November 2023

In agri- and horticulture, companies quite often have a machine that is overcompleted. For example, due to an upgrade to a more modern machine with higher capacity or because they are changing crops, for example. Unfortunately, all too often we see these machines gathering dust and taking up unnecessary space. A shame! Because your machine is worth money. For you the machine is probably no longer of added value, but our experience shows that with almost every working machine there is still someone happy to make. So don't wait any longer and offer your machine to a used machine dealer.

At Duijndam Machines, we are always on the lookout for used machines. Do you have a surplus machine? Don't hesitate to contact us so that we can offer you a favorable price for your machine. Curious about our purchasing policy? In this blog, you will learn how we buy machines and what to expect when offering your machine to us.

Duijndam Machines' Purchasing Policy

Unlike many machine marketplaces, Duijndam purchases machines directly from you, eliminating the need to wait for a buyer on the platform. You can quickly part with your machine at a favorable price. Our purchasing policy is fast and consists of the following 6 steps:

1. Submit Your Machine:

The purchasing process starts with you. If you have a surplus machine and decide to sell it, you can offer it to us in various ways: by filling out ourpurchase form, emailing us at info@duijndam-machines.com, or calling us at +31180632088. Providing as much information as possible about your machine, including type, brand, year of manufacture, maintenance history, current condition, and other relevant details, is crucial. The more information we have, the better we can assess whether the machine fits our requirements and determine its value.

Because we prioritize quality and can only deliver it at the front end if we buy well at the back end, we adhere to a careful purchasing policy. While this may seem disadvantageous for you as a seller, if your machine fits our criteria, the price you receive is favorable.

2. Contact from Us:

After you've submitted your machine, one of our buyers will contact you. Whether you've offered your machine from France or Canada, we generally purchase machines from any country, primarily in Europe but sometimes also from abroad, such as in America or Canada. Our interest in your machine depends on whether the demand and price are proportionate to the transport costs.

In the phone conversation with our buyer, they will try to gain a better understanding of your machine by asking about various aspects, such as its usage and maintenance history, and the reason for selling. The most crucial factor for us is that the machine is operational so that it can quickly go to a new owner after a service. While we can handle minor repairs in our workshop, significant defects often make a machine unattractive to us. Anticipating any upcoming repairs is not a problem, but please inform us honestly.

If our buyer assesses that the machine is interesting for Duijndam, a site visit follows.

3. Inspection:

If our buyers determine that the machine is interesting for us, we'd like to inspect it. We prefer to come to you, but if that's not convenient, for example, due to geographical distance, a video call inspection will suffice.

4. Deal:

After our buyers have assessed your machine, they will offer you a fair and favorable price. The offered price depends on various factors, with the current condition of the machine being the most decisive. The maintenance history and market demand for this type of machine also influence the offered price. When you offer your machine to us, a purchasing specialist will contact you and offer a price they believe is realistic.

The time from offering to the deal depends on multiple factors, such as the speed of providing the information we requested, the distance to the machine, and organizing transport. If you're in a hurry to sell, perhaps due to financial or space needs, inform our buyer, and we'll expedite the purchasing process.

5. Payment:

Agreed on the price? You'll receive a purchase confirmation from us for the acquired machine. This confirmation includes the machine details and the agreed-upon terms. You can use this purchase confirmation to create your invoice. We will pay your invoice as soon as possible but, in any case, before collecting the machine.

6. Collection:

Once we've received payment, it's time for us to pick up the machine. Proper disassembly is crucial to ensure the machine can be transported without damage. For some machines, this process is straightforward, while for others or in certain situations, it may be more complex or labor-intensive. Per transaction, we discuss whether the selling party can organize the disassembly and loading carefully. If this is not possible, we work with the seller to find the best solution.

We often organize the collection of machines, but if you have the means to deliver them, we'd like to know. However, we expect the seller to load the machines onto the truck carefully. If you're unable to do this, we'll work together to find the best solution.

If you have a surplus machine, don't hesitate to contact us, creating (financial) space in your company!
